The Burton E. Moore Youth Fund

The Burton E. Moore Fund (BEMY) is a program to carry on the important work of Burton E Moore in the sport of fencing. Burton Moore, an educator in the Fairfield High School system,  instituted the High School fencing program in the State of Connecticut in the mid 1960's and was the North Atlantic Section Chair for 29 years. Burt dedicated a vast amount of time in the developing of Connecticut fencing and fencing in general. Burt was the Connecticut Division USFA Chair since 1951 to 1995. There are now 21 Connecticut High School teams and 400 fencers in the CT Division  that exist largely due to the tireless efforts of Burton Moore. This Foundation is dedicated to carrying on the work of Burton E. Moore and expanding the influence of fencing in ever widening circles.

The Burton E. Moore Youth Fund accepts donations, gifts and grants from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

The Mission of the Burton E. Moore Youth Fund is to finance youth fencing in the Connecticut Division by assisting in the payment of:

Setup cost of 4 High School Teams
          Endowment for yearly team expenses
          Membership to the USFA
Membership to a club or other fencing institution
          Lessons, private and group
          Equipment
          Tournament travel expense
          Tournament entry fee expense
          Clinic and class fees

The goals of the BEMY are to solicit funds to establish an endowment fund to yield an annual annuity to meet these expenses. Your pledges of support are welcome at any time and are tax deductible.
