Candlewood Fencing Center (CFC) is dedicated to promoting the sport of fencing at both the recreational and competitive levels.

CFC offers programs for everyone from 6 to 60!

CFC provides a challenging forum for highly competitive tournament fencers as well as bouting at novice and intermediate levels. Just some of the many benefits that CFC offers are informal recreational fencing, bouting with United States Fencing Association (USFA) referees and highly competitive round robins. We also offer, private lessons from USFCA certified instructors and training from Russian masters!

Yale, Harvard, Columbia, Notre Dame, Brown, MIT, Cornell, Vassar, Wellesley, Tufts, Sacred Heart, Air Force, Ohio State, Brandeis, Drew, West Point, Johns Hopkins, Haverford, NJIT, Stanford, James Madison, Lafayette, Cleveland State, St. Johns, Marist, Stevens Tech,  Princeton, Boston College, Boston Univ., UNH, U Mass, Hunter, Yeshiva, Rutgers, Northwestern, Penn State, UNC, Case Western Reserve and University of Pennsylvania.

What do all these schools have in common? Fencing! As a sport, fencing is becoming more and more popular because it provides such a high degree of exercise, both physical and mental. It develops coordination, speed and agility, as well as the benefits of poise, self assurance and the competitive edge.

If you're getting bored with the same old sports or fitness routines, then contact CFC and add some excitement and spice to your life.

Pre-Registration for Non-Qualifier Events:
The Connecticut Division is beginning to experiment with pre-registration for some events via www.askFRED.net . AskFRED is an online Fencing Results and Events Database.
Pre-registering does *NOT* involve payment of money nor does it obligate the fencer to attend the event
Pre-registering is *NOT* required to compete in the event.
o This is an experiment for us here in CT based on the experiences of clubs/fencers in the Pacific Coast Section, Texas, and the Southeastern Section.  The New England and Metropolitan Divisions are beginning to use askFRED as well.
Pre-registering requires creating an account on askFRED to allow you to register for events in just a few clicks (your rating and club information are saved so that you do not have to enter them again)
AskFRED maintains a results database, allowing a user to search and find all of their past results (including individual pool and DE bouts) for any event that has been entered into the askFRED database.
As the use of askFRED grows in the northeast, it will provide an excellent way to see what events are coming up in the area, and plan an individual's tournament schedule more efficiently.
Anyone who has had experience using askFRED is encouraged to share their experiences with the CT and division officers.
